A-TIP: Psychological CPR
A-TIP is CPR for psychological trauma.
Based on EMDR, Acute Traumatic Incident Processing is a treatment for recent trauma such as an assault, an accident, or a natural disaster.
A-TIP uses eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, such as alternately tapping the client's knees, to immediately desensitize acute stress following a crisis.
Dr. Lubell uses A-TIP when appropriate to help her clients with recent traumatic events.
